The brief
A historic hotel needs a clear path to a stronger sustainability rating. For this 5,000 m², 17th-century Hoxton hotel, the brief combined recertification with an improvement roadmap from Good to Very Good.
What we did
We worked on the recertification assessment for the 5,000 m², 17th-century hotel and developed an improvement roadmap from Good towards Very Good. The work connected the existing certification position with the improvements needed to pursue a higher rating. The result was an asset-level direction for the hotel team: understand the baseline, identify the gap and use a practical roadmap to guide the next improvement decisions.
- 01
Establish the recertification baseline
We reviewed the hotel's existing certification position and the evidence relevant to recertification. Establishing that baseline was the starting point for understanding what the asset could already demonstrate and where further improvements were needed.
- 02
Identify the path to Very Good
We mapped the gap between the Good baseline and the Very Good ambition. This translated a rating target into areas for improvement, giving the hotel team a clearer understanding of the work needed to pursue the next rating level.
- 03
Translate the assessment into a roadmap
We brought the improvement opportunities together in a roadmap for the 5,000 m² historic asset. The roadmap connected recertification with forward-looking improvement decisions, rather than treating the assessment as an isolated exercise.
How Sustainix AI worked here
AI did the heavy lifting on evidence and analysis. Our experts reviewed and signed off every conclusion.
- 01 Ingest
Existing certification evidence, drawings and operational data were uploaded and sorted by BREEAM credit.
- 02 Scan
Sustainix AI scored the hotel against each credit to show what the asset already demonstrates and where evidence is missing.
- 03 Decide
Improvement options were ranked by their contribution towards Very Good, with the constraints of a 17th-century building in mind.
- 04 Prove
A licensed assessor reviewed the evidence and the roadmap before it reached the hotel team.
